- Being responsible for the appearance and cleanliness of the YMCA and any area the children use
- Reporting to work promptly

- Keeping the director informed of any kitchen problems
- Organizing and maintaining the kitchen area, materials, and supplies,
- Keeping the director advised of equipment and materials that need to be repaired or replaced
- Keeping all required reports pertaining to the nutrition and food program
- Building good communications with other staff to create a professional atmosphere
- Attending pre-employment and in-service training as required
- Understanding N.C. Child Day Care Requirements
- Daily prepare snacks and food served to children and staff
- Understand general nutritional requirements with a working knowledge of meal patterns required in NC. Childcare Programs
- Develop weekly menus which meet the RDA requirements and to record substitutions
- Keep food utensils, dishes used in food preparation clean, and any equipment in the kitchen clean
- Understand and maintain the environment health sanitation requirements
- Arrange with Director to order weekly food items, bulk items, and paper goods
- Any other duties assigned by the Childcare Director or the Executive Director
- Ensures all staff understand and volunteers understand and comply with YMCA abuse prevention policies, actively monitors staff interactions with participants, addresses boundary violations, and ensures prompt reporting of concerns in accordance with YMCA policy and state law
- Other duties as assigned
All YMCA staff are responsible for creating a safe, inclusive environment. This includes following all YMCA policies and procedures related to abuse prevention, reporting concerns or incidents immediately, and maintaining appropriate boundaries with youth and members.
