Youth Sports Associate

Under the general supervision of the Coordinator/Director, in cooperation with other YMCA staff, and consistent with the mission of the YMCA, the Youth Sports Official is responsible for enforcement of official league rules during all scheduled games. 

This roles requires availability to work on evenings and weekends.  

• Maintain atmosphere consistent with the YMCA Mission during games
• Diffuse conflict situations involving parents, coaches and players
• Communicate any inappropriate behavior to Sports Specialist and/or Program Director
• Enforce rules for particular sport

• Be in support of the YMCA’s mission and Youth Sports philosophy
• Have sufficient knowledge of rules for the specific sport being officiated
• Must be enthusiastic
• Able to develop positive relationships with coaches, children and parents
